Our article in De Tijd: Chinese big tech is dead, long live innovation

We’re featured in the Belgian newspaper De Tijd, about big tech in China and the new dynamics in the sector, in China as well as in Europe.

Many Chinese big tech companies, such as Alibaba and Tencent, were captured in their own prison, to say so. It was impossible to use WeChat pay in the Alibaba environment and vice versa. This is now past time. The monopolies are slowly being taken down, thanks to a new law about monopolies. This will make it easier for smaller companies to enter the market.

This means there will be more room for innovation and new ideas from small startups.

What is happening in China nowadays, will be noticeable in Europe, sooner or later. When competition rises in China, Chinese companies will start to look to other markets, among who the European market.
