Simon Meerpoel is an ambitious and versatile professional from Oudenaarde, Belgium. His academic career began at Ghent University, where he earned his master’s degree in Business Administration with specialization in Finance and Risk Management in 2022. He then completed a second master’s degree in Business Economics with a focus on Corporate Finance.
After graduation, Simon decided to take a gap year and travel through Southeast Asia. He settled for a time in Thailand, where he worked as an SSI diving instructor at the Koh Tao Scuba Club from August 2023 to April 2024. This experience not only allowed him to deepen his passion for diving, but also to discover new cultures and broaden his horizons.
Simon began his professional career as a Junior Accountant at Beliving NV, where he worked from December 2022 to August 2023. His eagerness to learn and adaptability helped him grow quickly in this role. In July 2024, he joined Vyvey & Co (now Agio Finance) as a Junior Auditor, where he has been learning a lot about finance and business ever since.
During his time as a student, Simon also gained valuable work experience. For example, he worked at IC Financial Services in August and September 2022 and completed an internship at Nokia Bell Pension Fund from February to June 2021. These experiences contributed to his development as a well-rounded and skilled professional.
With his strong academic background, varied work experience and broad areas of interest, Simon Meerpoel has developed into a versatile professional with great potential for the future.
