Gieljan Van Mellaert joined Agio Legal in 2024. He focuses on employment and social security law.
Gieljan started his career as a litigator within a large trade union, where he intervened in disputes concerning, among other things, dismissal, discrimination, remuneration, restructuring and transfer of undertaking. He continued his career within the largest metal and textile union, where he acted as both social law expert and negotiator of collective labour agreements.
Before Agio Legal, he worked as an attorney-at-law within the Employment & Benefits department of an international law firm in Brussels. In this capacity, he mainly assisted employers and dealt with cases in individual and collective employment law, as well as social security law.
Gieljan regularly pleads cases before the labour courts.
